Project Overview

A leading financial news and broker comparison platform with an enormous global following approached us for a full visual and functional redesign. Their platform was trusted by millions, but the design had become obsolete, making it difficult to integrate modern sponsor placements and engage younger retail investors. We delivered a modern, sleek interface that carefully balanced legacy expectations with contemporary UX patterns.

Client Background

Our client runs one of the internet's most visited portals for retail investing guides, broker reviews, and real-time financial news. While their content was top-tier, the platform's architecture and rigid layout dated back to the early 2010s. The challenge wasn't just aesthetic—they needed to seamlessly implement new monetization channels (sponsor features) without disrupting the trusted experience their long-term users relied upon.

Our Approach

Discovery & Lean Canvas (Weeks 1-2)

We initiated the project with a thorough discovery phase, conducting comprehensive competitor research across the modern fintech landscape. We created a Lean Canvas model to align the redesign with the client's core business goals—specifically improving sponsor integration and modernizing the visual language.

Iterative UX/UI Design (Weeks 3-6)

Moving into Figma, we completely rebuilt the design system. We instituted clean typography, ample whitespace, and sleek, trustworthy visuals. We introduced changes in an iterative, thoughtful manner—consulting with the client and surveying power-users at every milestone to ensure the underlying structure remained familiar.

Sponsor-Friendly Architecture (Weeks 5-8)

Instead of slapping banners across content, we designed native-feeling sponsor integration widgets. We redesigned the broker comparison tables with a clear visual hierarchy, elevating promoted partners organically while maintaining the editorial integrity of the reviews.

Frontend Implementation (Weeks 8-12)

We translated the Figma designs into a blazing-fast Next.js frontend, focusing heavily on mobile responsiveness and Core Web Vitals. The gradual introduction of these updates allowed us to track user behavior carefully and confirm that the new design met both functional and aesthetic goals.
