Cross-chain DeFi protocol optimizing trade execution across 15+ exchanges

A decentralized liquidity aggregation protocol that routes trades across 15+ exchanges to deliver optimal pricing, processing $850M+ in cumulative volume with sub-second execution.
A crypto-native fintech team had a vision for a next-generation liquidity aggregation platform that would solve the fundamental problem in decentralized finance: fragmented liquidity across dozens of exchanges, leading to suboptimal trade execution and hidden slippage costs. We built Kryolix from the ground up — a cross-chain DeFi protocol with a smart order routing engine, non-custodial architecture, and real-time aggregation across centralized and decentralized exchanges.
Our client is a team of former quantitative traders and blockchain engineers who identified a growing problem in the DeFi space: traders executing large orders were losing 1-5% to slippage because no single exchange had sufficient liquidity. Existing aggregators were slow, supported limited chains, and lacked the sophisticated routing algorithms needed for institutional-grade execution. They raised $6M in seed funding and engaged Inventiple to build the core protocol.
Fragmented liquidity across 15+ exchanges (both CEX and DEX) meant large trades could move the market, costing traders 1-5% in slippage on orders over $50K.
Cross-chain interoperability was essential — users needed to execute trades across Ethereum, Polygon, BSC, and Arbitrum without manually bridging assets or managing multiple wallets.
Sub-second routing decisions were required to compete with existing centralized alternatives, while maintaining the non-custodial security guarantees of DeFi.
Smart contract security was critical — any vulnerability could result in catastrophic fund loss, requiring formal verification and comprehensive audit processes.
The regulatory landscape was evolving rapidly, requiring a flexible architecture that could adapt to KYC/AML requirements across different jurisdictions.
We conducted deep research into existing DEX aggregator architectures (1inch, Paraswap, Jupiter) and designed a novel multi-path routing algorithm that considers liquidity depth, gas costs, bridge fees, and slippage impact simultaneously. The architecture uses an off-chain routing engine for speed with on-chain settlement for security.
We built the core settlement contracts in Solidity with formal verification using Certora. The contracts implement atomic swap execution, multi-hop routing, and a modular adapter system that allows new exchanges to be integrated without contract upgrades. We conducted 3 rounds of internal audits before engaging Trail of Bits for an independent security assessment.
We developed the off-chain routing engine in Rust for maximum performance, achieving sub-400ms route computation even with 15+ exchange order books. The cross-chain bridge integration supports Ethereum, Polygon, BSC, and Arbitrum with unified liquidity views — users see one order book aggregated across all chains.
We built a sleek trading interface using Next.js with real-time WebSocket data feeds showing liquidity depth across all venues. We also developed a TypeScript SDK for institutional clients to integrate Kryolix routing into their own platforms. The phased launch started with a controlled beta, then opened to public trading.
"Inventiple delivered a protocol that institutional traders actually trust. The routing engine is faster than most centralized alternatives, the smart contracts passed the most rigorous audit we've ever commissioned, and the SDK adoption has exceeded every projection. This is world-class blockchain engineering."
